Projects

2007 | 2006 | 2005 | 2004 | 2003 | 2002

December - Red (and black and gray) scarf in the Yarn Harlot pattern. I used some mohair boucle from Fiesta Yarns and a size 8 needle. This is for the Red Scarf project.

December - Waffle socks using Trekking 131. C/O 72 with size 0.

December - Waterfall Rib socks using Knit Picks yarn. C/O 72 with size 0. (The color is off - it's green and shades of red)

December - Drive-Thru for Amy in Encore and various Wool-Ease scraps. Easy-peasy pattern and I love the cute little buttons. Size 4 needles and size 6 pattern

December - Austerman Step socks in color 05 (Torf). Whoa - these were quite scratchy knitting up and I was not sure about the Aloe claim. Once I washed them (one down, 39 to go), they softened up trememdously. Size 0 needle, c/o 72, 2x2 rib

December - Have a Moebius Christmas! Look at all these Moebius bowls I made for holiday gifts for teachers. I used mostly yarn I had in the house. I'm filling them with candles or Clementines, depending on my mood. The orange one is for Amy's Coconut, so I can reclaim another basket I made.

December (finishing) and January (knitting and felting) - Kristina bag with Noro and one skein Cascade 220

November - Sophie bags for preschool teachers. I skipped the handles and made little nubbin rings to add the purchased handles. I also made little button holders.

November (piecing) and September (knitting) - Happy Hen Sweater for Amy. Size 3 needles. Little Lehigh Peek A Boo and Playtime. Sans pocket and intarsia. I just couldn't handle that...

November - 3AM hat in Plymouth Galway brick #44 on size 7 needles. I added one extra repeat of the cable for length and a little bobble on the end for fun. There were some minor errors in the pattern but I'm very happy with this!

November -Natalya gauntlets out of Louisa Harding Kashmir Aran on size 7 needles.

November - Somewhat Cowl in black unknown superwash Chinese yarn. I knit it on gauge with a size 3 needle (the cowl was a monster!) I knit it to the pattern (so well written!) and added long sleeves.

October - One Skein Wonder in Malabrigo Shocking Pink

October - Mary Jane Slippers from Funky Knits in Rowan. The pattern was OK, and they felted a bit too much (but I'm sure they'll stretch with wear). I prefer FiberTrends patterns, though...

September and October - Fiber Trends Elmer Fudd hat (No, that's not the real name, but come on...) I knit 2 adult hats out of bulky-ish yarn and 5 kids hats out of Cascade 220 and Galway. I added the buttons on the side of the hat, instead of on the strap.

September - Last Minute Knitted Gifts Noro Kuryeon Scarf in broken rib stitch. I cast on 35 stitches with a size 7 Addi and used 2 skeins each of colors 88 and 164 to make it longer and wider.

August - Sockotta socks (6670). Simple 2x2 garter/stockinette body. Cast on 72 on size 0.

August - Jess Hutch's Dolly. From her out-of-print book, but you can make a bunny without the ears to get the same effect...Done in Cascade 220 scraps on size 5 DPNs. The purple doll has dark brown hair and is sporting a yellow dress with purple crocheted trim. The red doll has black hair and eyes and is wearing a sporty striped dress. So. stinking. cute. I added the pigtails and used French knots for the eyes.

August - RPM socks in Socks that Rock - Queen Rock. Size 1 needles, c/o 63 stitches. I like the pattern, but the STR is crazy. One sock (on my right foot) spirals with the pattern and the other (on my left foot) split the colorway - the front half is pink/orang and the back half is blue/purple. It is a great pattern on the heels and toes, though...

August - Hand towel in bamboo pattern. Euroflax Linen in French Blue on size 2 needles.

August - oven mitt in Lambs' Pride bulky

July - Broadripple socks in Cascade Fixation (#9989 main color, #6185 cuff and toes) on size 1 needles.

July - Opal Crocodile socks on size 0. 2x2 rib on the top and plain stockinette on the body.

July - American Girl doll dress in pink

July - Childhood - CottonEase in Mint and CottonEase

July - Illusion knitting bag with frog from New Knits on the Block. Size 5 needles. 1 skein Saucy Emerald (#536) and a chunk of coned Lion Brand Kitchen Cotton in ecru. I ran out of Saucy, so I made both straps out of the LB cone. I need to line this bag...

July - Wrap sweater in Cleckheaton Studio Mohair 8ply, color #2. Size 4 needles.

July - dropped stitch scarf

June - Ungranny Smith from Knitty. Size 3 needles. Little Lehigh Peek A Boo (7.5 skeins). I inadvertantly added two inches in length before the shaping. I actually like it longer...

June - cupcakes! Cascade 220 in brown, Plush for frosting, bulky Lamb's Pride for cherry. I used an empty plastic ice cream cup to give the bottom strength. I also added some increases to the Plush part (and decreased appropriately) to make a good muffin top!

June - Trekking XXL #107 in Traveling Rib stitch on size 0 needles.

June - Simple Stripes socks in 2x2 rib on size 0. From Knit Picks Simple Stripes sock yarn (#23548)

May - Moebius basket from the Second Treasury of Magical Knits out of Cascade 220

May - More pendants. They both have origami paper with butterflies on the back. The letters are M and C and they have a light denim blue rattail chain.

April - Lana Grossa Meilenweit socks in 2x2 rib

April - Kate Gilbert bunny in Berroco Plush

April - Bell rib socks in Trekking

April - Knitting Pure and Simple V-neck short sleeve top in Berroco Touche

March - Baby kimono from Interweave Knits

March - Baby kimono from Mason-Dixon Knitting : The Curious Knitters' Guide in Nashua Yarns Cilantro on size 6 needles.

March - Bonkers socks in Flamingo Fest

March - Glass charm pendants made during a class at Urban Arts and Crafts. The kit comes with 1" glass squares and alphabet cut-outs. I used scrapbook paper, a sticker and printed pictures on glossy photo paper. Satin rope was used for the necklace and I finished it off with necklace closure. These are for a neice, two pre-school teachers, a friend and me! On mine (on the far right of both pictures) I used a necklace closure shaped like a heart and arrow. I also added a jump ring and heart charm to the bottom. I will *definitely* be doing this again!

February - Nantasket Baskets using Cascade 220. The bottom is the same color as the weaving and I used about a half skein for that. I used a full skein of the handle color. These dry perfectly on top of paint cans and will also be perfect for Easter baskets. Amy's claimed the light pink/dark pink combo for herself.

February - Toasty Toes socks with Opal (doubled) for the toes and heel. I c/o 56 stitches, used a size 2 needle and a Garter Rib pattern (K2,P2 for one round, K second round, repeat). I lengthened the cuffs and added the Opal, since I didn't think there would be enough yarn.

February - Log Cabin socks from Handknit Holidays in Malabrigo Mango (just broke into the 2nd skein). I made the men's size on size 5 needles. Luverly and soft.

January - Hand-dyed socks using KnitPicks dye-your-own. They match!

January - Denwy pattern from Knitting on the Road. Done in Peacock (?) with Cherry Tree Hill. c/o 72 on size 0.

January - Kate from Knitty. I used Lamb's Pride worsted on size 7 needles. She has been renamed Sparkles.

January - Amy's legwarmers out of Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sport in Sherbet (1 skein). I cast on 56 and knit a 2x2 rib on size 2 needles for 12 inches.
