This blanket was made by my father's mother, probably in the 1930s. I'm assuming that the ties belonged to my grandfather and other male reatives in the family. The very wide ties were folded in half (right sides out) and stitched together. Each of these ties made a ray in a sunburst and were sewn together and to a middle circle. The blanket is lined and also has a heavy backing.
