Amy's 100 Good Wishes Quilt

To welcome and celebrate a new life, there is a tradition in the northern part of China to make a Bai Jia Bei, or 100 Good Wishes Quilt. It is a custom to invite people to contribute a patch of cloth. The patches are sewn together into a quilt that contains the luck, energy, and good wishes from all the families and friends who contributed a piece of fabric.

I asked friends and family for a piece of cloth to add to Amy's quilt and a wish for her. This is a picture of the results! Amy's Grandma Kuta made a 1000 Pyramids quilt for Amy, which is rows of 40 triangles. This quilt fits a queen size bed.
