We're in Nanning and waiting for Amy. It's 4:00 pm on Sunday afternoon, so I think that's 3:00 am on Saturday CT. The word on the street is that the babies will be here at 7 pm tonight. We're meeting in our coordinator Helen's room at 5 to go over paperwork and take a quick shopping trip for formula, etc.

We found out on the ride from the airport that Amy has been in foster care. She doesn't use diapers and she sleeps with her foster mom. I think tonight is going to be a rocky night...

The trip was OK. All our luggage arrived in every location. We sat around in LAX for a while and watched planes take off. We then went to the China Southern gate and queued up with other CHI people. We chatted until the plane took off (at 3 am - one hour late). Mark and I were both exhausted and fell asleep before dinner was served. Neither one of us was very hungry at that point anyway. We spent a lot of time catnapping and watching "Kate and Leopold". We deplaned on the runway at Guangzhou and sat around there for a week or so this morning. Guangzhou airportWe finally got to Nanning around 1:30 pm on Sunday, so that was about 36 hours of travel. On the way to the hotel, Mark saw a three-wheeled bike with a refrigerator and a TV on the back. I noticed all of the water buffalo. The first thing both of us did when we arrived at the hotel room was shower. We have the hotel room ready for Amy and now just need her.

Neither one of us can believe this is happening!

For future travelers - eat in the International Terminal (#4) and then go to the China Southern gate. It doesn't open until 8pm anyway, so if you've got some time to kill, you can eat and do some duty-free shopping. Also, don't wear any clothes that you want to see again. I am so sick of my outfit that I've worn, I'm not sure if I can wear it again.

I need to run and make sure that Mark is still conscious. We'll talk to you next time with Amy!
