Our final day in China was relaxed. We repacked our bags,
ate a leisurely breakfast and went shopping one more time.
Amy got a black and red kitty to match her blue and gold one.
We also got her a new dress and some socks. We spent the last
yuen on snacks, Miffy tissues and pastries (I love Chinese
pastries) and headed to the airport.
Here are Amy's animals. All but Neigh the Horse were from
China. The rabbit was from the Easter bunny, the cats from
the Beijing department store and the panda from her foster
family.
Amy slept the majority of the plane ride from Beijing to
Newark. We switched to the middle aisle, so there wasn't clausterphobia
on anyone's part. We got to Newark and then the problems started.
A Nor'easter
blew in and cancelled our tiny jet from Newark to Kansas City.
For two days. Amy thought the Newark hotel room as a horrible
"time out" and Mark and I agreed. We did get to
Ikea and watched some movies on TV. We could even see the
Manhattan skyline from our hotel room. We finally gave in
and flew to Houston and then Kansas City.
Our trip to China was wonderful and one we all hope to remember
forever. We hope to return soon. But there's nothing like
sleeping in your own bed...
